Drawing, from the most basic mediums like paper and pencil, to digital drawing tablet and illustration software, is a way to express ourselves. I draw, because I find drawing is a way to release my emotions, and to enunciate with others. It is the way I connect with the world. The art has the power to change the world. It can reinterpret the meaning of life and death, shifts our perceptions and values towards the reality. The pen I am holding becomes the spark of my creativity. I create blooming flowers, clouds on sky and butterflies surrounding me. There is no restrictions, no hard and fast rules, everything can be achieved in the world of art. I enjoy art, and I wish I can remember every moment I draw.

Week 12 :
Mr. Fauzi said the first sketch is good. He asked me to make use of my drawing skills by adding some doodles at the back. The person in the centre (me) can be replaced by real photography. He allowed me to emphasize on my illustrations. He said I have good progress since it is nearly 50% done.
Week 13 :
Good progress. Mr. Fauzi said I have a good photo, with good lighting, shadow and highlight. He let me decide my final poster. I will need to change the canvas size to 1920 x 1080 pixels. For animation, he suggested me to get aurora video from YouTube and added in the background.
Week 14 :
Great work! The animation at the background is minimal, and the viewers can focus on the photography. Good job.
REFLECTION
Initially I don't have much thoughts on what I am going to create. Although I think I know myself well (probably), it was difficult to decide my direction. Since it is a self-titled project, we are given freedom to explore what kind of poster and video we want to present, and this makes me wonder : what is my design purpose? The step-by-step guidance provided by sir is really helpful. Firstly, I get to introduce myself, my dream, hobbies, etc. and slowly narrowed down to a specific design direction. I think this is a crucial step to explore all the possible directions and focus on self-expression. I am quite satisfied with what I have came out with.
I also learnt to pose and take photograph in Week 11, and what I learnt from there can be applied in this project. For the animation, I have learnt some techniques to animate in After Effects, which I think it is pretty fun. For example, I learnt to create aurora animation. The knowledge I have gained here (photography techniques, Photoshop and After Effects skills) are definitely helpful for my future works.
