FEEDBACK
Week 2 :
For Project 1A, Mr. Fauzi suggested to choose pre-composition 2
(from Concept B) as the final composition. I agreed that because it
is rich in content and balance, also obeying the Rule of
Thirds.
Week 3 :
For Project 1B pre-compositions, Mr. Fauzi said my second
composition is the best out of these 3 compositions.
Week 4 :
Initially, sir suggested me to use Week 3 exercise as submission.
I think it is because I slightly over-editing the images. All of
my tryouts is either too orange or too magenta. So in my 4th
attempt, I decreased the value of adjustments and asked sir to
review during the live class. He agreed that my 4th attempt is
much better than the previous one, and approved it as my final
submission.
REFLECTION
For the physical collage, it was interesting to play around with the
spontaneous elements I found. It feels got to pick up scissor and glue, and
enjoyed the process of cutting and pasting. It might be the reason why I had
extra series for this project. I just felt relaxed when I was dealing with
physical items.
In project 1B, I get to use different tools in Photoshop to edit
images. Similar to Project 1A, I applied the knowledge in
compositions. It was a bit challenging at first as the images given
are random and do not have much relation. But at the end I managed to
produce some interesting layouts and applied colour adjustments. I
also learnt that I should be more careful in colour editing. I made
some mistakes by tuning the images to much, either too orange or too
magenta. I immediately fixed the problem and the end product is better
than my previous tryouts.
Overall, I have learnt about some composition techniques, which are
the rule of thirds and golden ratio. Also, I am more familiar with the
tools in Photoshop after completing this project.
