PROJECT 1 : Prototype Design
Landing Page Design
A landing page is a distinct page on your website that's built for one single conversion objective. A landing page should be designed, written and developed with one business goal in mind.
Landing page design is the process of creating an enticing site page for your target audience and website visitors. It should encourage them to convert from leads into subscribers or customers. Effective landing page design is on-brand, includes your product or service and company information, and incorporates relevant offers and calls-to-action (CTAs).

Some interesting microsites I found :

https://blueheart.patagonia.com/
The similarity I found is that all of them applied animation in a short landing page.
Drafts - landing page
I wanted to go for a minimalistic page design that provides art services
- basically showcasing my portfolio and offering commissions.

Digitisation of landing page
I chose to use the gradient of purple, blue and beige as my background
colour because it gave me a feeling of comfort and
harmonious.
My design was mostly influenced by a past project I have done in my Foundation : https://tanyiyun33.wixsite.com/selfpromo.

After the feedback session, I was advised to add more description so that
it provides some context to the viewers.

Logo Design
I went for a minimalistic logo design. It looks like two pencils connecting
a line. The white lines are actually the indication of my initials
(YY).

Digitisation of content
Then I continued to design other webpages. I kept the background, button
design and typeface consistent throughout the entire website.

FEEDBACK
Week 9 :
General Feedback
Everyone should produce at least 5 sketches for landing page
design.
Specific Feedback
You know what you want to go for. That's good.
Week 10 :
General Feedback
Some students work in Figma/Wix and some students work in Adobe
Illustrator, both are fine.
Specific Feedback
Provide more explanation in the landing page. Add a logo at the
corner left of the navigation. Think for a more catcher call for action.
Remove the frame for navigation bar.
REFLECTION
I enjoyed this project because it gives us the freedom to pick the topic of our choice. I chose to develop a website for myself (client). I learnt how to design a landing page with a goal in mind, in my case, to offer my art services to public. I have gained new insights by looking at how a successful brand designed their landing page. Looking at other students' work also give me motivation to further improve my design.
