FEEDBACK

Week 8 :

Independent learning week

Week 9 :

General feedback
Customize the tables and charts to fit in your concept design. Refer to real book design (available at amazon) when designing the front matter. Be careful of the font size. Look at the design of page numbers in Pinterest.
Specific feedback
It’s good to look at the sample layout with grids that can make sure of the consistency of the layout. You can use Disney illustrations as part of the elements in the publishing design. It is okay to add your original characters.

Week 10 :

General feedback
You can break the rules on the margin and column. Always extend the colored background/ image to reach the bleed.
Specific feedback
The content layout is good. The gradient background can be substituted with plain color background/white background to increase the contrast (less messy). You can play with a mixture of left alignment/justify alignment.

Week 11 :

General feedback
The first submission is the visual design, followed by the second submission Turnitin report. Check your table and chart labels. Don’t put appendices that are not being mentioned in any of your dissertations (normally will be mentioned in Section 3).
Specific feedback
- Make sure the adoption of British or American spelling is consistent.
- Change the roman page to “i” starting from Acknowledgments.
- Replace “Conclusions of Literature Review” to “Summary Conclusion”.
- Be consistent with the in-text citations.
- The writing is understandable and fascinating to read. Good.
- If there are any figures, it is good to direct the readers to the specific figure in your text.
- Replace “online qualitative questionnaire” to “online questionnaire” because your method has a combination of qualitative and quantitative questions. The entire research has adopted a mixed method.
- Try to analyze the data in a more narrative manner in Section 4.
- Give a short conclusion after analyzing the facial expression in Section 4.
- When you have done the summary conclusions, observe what in between is missing from this conclusion in Section 6.
- The Project Recommendation can be remained. You can elaborate in the second paragraph after the first sentence. For example, what can the designers do to visualize the results.

Week 12 :

No class due to GE-15.

REFLECTION

Although we have extended deadlines for Visual Design Publication and final dissertation, I did not feel relaxed because there are over 10 submissions from other modules which are also extended to this week. More time given means a better work should be produced. In the end, I found that I have written nearly 30000 words for the entire dissertation! I never thought I would write so many words until today because I would rather draw than write since I was young. I am proud of myself because I have stepped out of my comfort zone and completed this challenge. The visual design publication gave me an opportunity to design an e-booklet up to 194 pages. I have gained a lot of inspirations in designing the booklet layout from Pinterest.
